Escaño family celebrates 10th grand reunion
THE Escaño family’s legacy is one of unique historical significance among Cebu’s old Spanish-Filipino clans, whose members have become past and present leaders of local industries throughout the Philippines and abroad.

One thing that this family has always been known for is knowing how to gather relatives from all over the world for the Escaño Grand Reunion, celebrated every four years.

This coming March 18th marks the clan’s 10th grand reunion since the tradition began in 1987, evolving into what is now a multinational network whose inclination to the performing arts transcends generations.

The Lorenzo line, whose grandfather, Don Lorenzo, son of Don Fernando and Dona Agustina Faelnar, will host this year’s events. The families who are abroad are set to return to their hometown to peer into their genealogical past, commemorate undying unity, and enjoy family togetherness with style.

The opening of the two-day event will be hosted by Monmon Escaño at Casino Español de Cebu on March 18 with registration opening at 4 p.m. There will be a mass at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner and dancing (attire: smart casual). The second day’s activities—co-hosted by Miss Universe Philippines 2021 second runner-up Steffi Pearson Aberasturi—will be at Bluewater Maribago Beach Resort on March 19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (overnight stay at the hotel is recommended).
